Today, my last class end at 6.30pm (Socio), as usual. Well, I did asked permission for few times so that the lecturer could bring it up earlier and it would be easier for me and to those who take public transport and have to travel a long journey way back home. It is just kind of late for them when they reach home. Yet today was different, as I said class end at 6.30pm so I called my parents so they could come over to college and fetch me home so I do not need to travel all a way back home, at times I really appreciate a lots public transport though I hate it.
I waited in college for 30 minutes (actually is 40 minutes) and my parents has arrived. So once I popped in the car, the first question that I asked was “where are we heading to, now?” Well, my dad has answered me quickly, “yea dear, guess what? Panda Indah, Bak ku teh!” Oh gosh, to those who does not know my dad, he is a bak ku teh’ fans, super fans!!! Last time when I was young he used to eat twice a week!!! But since last time they were some problem with the meat (pork), and some disease was spread through widely, that might scared him from eating bak ku teh, yet it is not working. Although lots of his friends did advise him stop eating bak ku teh rapidly because it’s really harmful to health, he just ignores and love it much more than before.
After that, we reached that area my dad suddenly think of asking his friend, Uncle Cheung, to join us for dinner. Okay then, Uncle Cheung been invited for the dinner. “Tauke (boss), 1 clay pot of bak ku teh for 3 people!” my dad yielded and the boss itself was his friends too. I ate very full and same things go to my dad!!! Then, Uncle Cheung and dad started to chit chat and of course my mom did joined in the conversation, and I’m just looking at them talking, at that times just hoping they can finish chit chatting and I can go back home soon. After awhile, Uncle Cheung stared at me and started to asked:
“Gal, how old are you now?”
“Well, I just passed my birthday a month ago now I’m 18 years old, Uncle Cheung!” I answered.
“Oh, time does fly, is been 18 years old I knew you, lee (where Uncle Cheung used to call my dad) And your daughter now had grown up”, uncle Cheung said.
Well, my mom said that Uncle Cheung met my dad since I’m a fetus in my mom’s tummy!!! And when I was 5 years old, Uncle Cheung said that I used to sat on his lap...So…it should not be 18 years, is 18 years and 9 month (included the months before I was born)!!! Ha-ha…oops I did said that loudly and Uncle Cheung heard what I said so, they just laugh out loudly. Yea, it's truth what Uncle Cheung said so, time does fly. Now I’m 18 years old and my parents were getting older and older. Wrinkles, grey hairs and so on, all shown out from my parents features. I just wonder how I will look like if I’m older then.
Is that what I have to worry now? Nope….that’s not the vital thing to do now. Just really do hope that my parents will stay healthy and be strong as before. Of course, want them to know although sometimes their conversation were took a long period to end, and I keep showing out some frustrated faces but I really did not meant to do that, just guess I have to spend more time with you all (and join in the conversation, too) instead hanging out with friends.
Love you always mom and dad,
Your daughter.
